DIY: How to Make a Festive Fall Balloon Arch
4. Return, once your arch is hung up on the wall and nestle any additional flowers you have into bare spots.
3. Take your two balloon pairs, so the knots are overlapping each other, and blend them at the middle. Twist the two balloon pairs 3-5 times in random directions, until they are bound together.
And just like that, we are entering our favorite time of year! There is just something about the holiday season that is a little magical. Whether it’s the flavors, the foliage, or the quality time spent with family and friends, we can’t wait for all that is to come over the next couple months. Thanksgiving must be one of our favorite holidays, and recently we’ve been dreaming up so many fun and festive ways to celebrate Turkey Day with our loved ones. We wanted to do something a little bit different with our Thanksgiving décor, so we partnered with our friends at Balloon Time to make a whimsical, autumnal balloon arch that you can style anywhere you’re going to be serving food, beverages or desserts for the significant get-together.
2. So that you have two tails around a foot long, tie a long piece of fishing wire around the middle of each cluster.
To hang your balloon arch:
3. Using the fishing line “tails,” situate the cluster where you need it on your balloon arch, and then tie the ends securely so that they wrap around the middle fishing line in your balloon arch. (It is also helpful to wind the fishing line “tails” around some balloons in your arch before tying your knot for extra security.)
2. Take two of your balloons and tie the ends together in a knot that is double. Repeat this step with two more balloons.
4. Repeat this process until you are satisfied with contour and the volume of your balloon arch.

Tip: Make sure that you have some additional hooks available, in case you have to rearrange some of them in the process. As soon as you use your hook once, it will not be tacky enough to reuse and hold up your arch properly. It’s also a good idea to try to get fairly “heavy duty” hooks, even though your balloons are mild. They fall off the wall when situating your arch when the hooks are too flimsy or weak.
And voila! We’re absolutely in love with how our balloon arch turned out, and how perfectly it fit over the cocktail bar that we set up for our guests.

7. Place the balloon cluster in your fishing line as close as possible to your first to add your cluster to the arch, and nest the clusters together so there are little to no openings.
And the best part? This festive balloon arch doubles as a excellent photo backdrop! So to inspire your Thanksgiving parties (or really any fall festivities you have coming up), now we are discussing the step-by-step tutorial of how we generated this pretty piece of balloon art, and giving you all of the info you will need to make one of your own.
4. Add another balloon pair using the exact same twisting motions you used with the balloons, once you have your cluster of four balloons. Repeat this step one more time, until you have a cluster.
2. Have one person while the other sticks Command hooks to the wall at points of your arch. (For instance, we put two hooks around the curve of the arch, and two behind the upper end of the arch to hold it up.)
1. Together with the Balloon Time Helium Tank, begin by blowing up a bunch of your smaller sized balloons in a variety of colors (or just 8 at a time, repeating for every balloon cluster) and tie a knot at the end of each balloon.
8. Take your fishing line, until it’s secure and wind it around the middle of your cluster about 5 times.
Our balloon arch was styled by us over a cocktail bar, which made it fun to mix a drink up. However, you can put your balloon arch in any place that makes sense for your celebration. An arch in this way would look hung even, on the wall next to the dinner table, or over a dessert table in an entryway.
3. So that they stay put, once you’ve your wound through your arch, secure any spots with more fishing line.
3. Then, cut on a piece of fishing twine and loop it tying together the ends of your line on the hook behind your balloons. Repeat this step for each hook, and add any additional hooks where your arch is drooping.
6. Repeat steps 1-4, to create your balloon cluster in your arch. We made our clusters together with the big balloons using a pair of two balloons, and just four balloons, totaling six balloons in these clusters.
1. Produce several standalone clusters using the exact same method.

2. Your flower garland winding it up and down around your balloon clusters.
If you’d like to add more volume to the center of your balloon arch:
Tip: Don’t be afraid to wind your fishing line around your ring a few times as you fasten it to the wall, if you feel that simply looping the line around your arch is not holding it firmly enough to the hooks.
9. Repeat steps 7-8 for every balloon cluster your arch is added to by you, until you’ve reached your desired length.
A few weeks back, we organized a fun Friendsgiving brunch with a bunch of our blogger friends, and wanted to create a piece of décor that would stand out, make a statement, and add a little whimsy to our gathering. Together with the Balloon Time Helium Tank, lots of balloons, some faux florals, and a good amount of fishing wire, we made this gorgeous balloon arch that is excellent for any fall gathering.
1. Start by deciding which will be at the bottom, and which end of your arch will be at the very best. Have someone help you hold it up against the wall where you’ll want to situate it before you dive into securing it to see.

For the flower garland:
What will you’re crafting up to the holidays this year?
Cheers to a successful (and oh-so-fun to make) DIY project. The only hard part is waiting patiently for Thanksgiving to arrive…
1. Start by trimming fullness . (We cut off some additional leaves and a few flowers so that we could wind the garland through the arch more easily. You can use these additional tidbits later!)
Note: Be cautious of any sharp ends in your garland, and be sure that you clip these off before you add it to your arch. They’ll pop your balloons if any endings are too sharp.
So, without further ado, here’s how we made this whimsical balloon arch.
5. So the end of your balloon arch remains secure finish this one by tying a knot around the middle of your cluster.
