And, what tips do you have for placing a morning routine and sticking with it?
In case you missed it, our LaurenConrad.com editors recently shared an intriguing study about how much sleep you need–down to the exact minute–in order to become your wildest self and live your best life. Pretty intriguing? But, we then got to thinking… What’s the point of getting said number of Zzzzs if you do not have the correct morning routine to back it all up?
If you’ve ever had one of those weeks where your bedtime is totally erratic each night (8pm one night, midnight another), you know how hard it is to wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed daily. And there’s a reason for that: In fact, did you know that using a bedtime each night of the week can cause higher rates of productivity and therefore better quality of sleep the following day? Our LC.com editors who go to bed at exactly the exact same time each night–between 9pm and 10:30pm–wake up with ease the following morning. Before their alarm clock goes off, A number of them even rise! Our first bit of advice would be to set a bedtime and stick with it if you want to be a morning person. Aiming to be at exactly the exact same time in bed every weeknight is a great starting place, although some nights will be later than others of course.

Get your sweat on at the morning…
We have all had those mornings where we’re applying mascara as we’re running out the door, shoes in hand and coffee nearly spilling all over the place… Only to arrive at your workplace to realize that you didn’t have a bite of breakfast to help fuel your big day. Since getting out the door on time to go to work can be a crazy dash, our editors recommend planning ahead as much as possible. One of the simplest ways to simplify your morning routine is by prepping your breakfast the night before, which brings us to our favorite make-ahead breakfast: Quaker Overnight Oats. They’re composed of whole grains and oats, and they’re great source of fiber and taste delicious. Plus, they’re hassle-free and easy to prep the night before a big day of work. Simply add your favorite milk to the fill line inside of the cup (we love using almond milk or coconut milk), give it a stir, then place in your fridge for at least 6 hours where the oats will cold steep while you sleep. We have never been more excited to wake up to a delicious and nutritious breakfast that’s already prepped and ready to go. Additionally, Quaker Overnight Oats come in four satisfying flavors including Blueberry Banana & Vanilla Bliss, Toasted Coconut & Almond Crunch, Raisin Walnut & Honey Heaven and Orchard Peach Pecan Perfection.
With this in mind, all of us here at Team LC got together and discovered that those of us who are early birds had three interesting things in common about our morning routines. Our editors do these three things every morning, and they are attributed by them to kicking the day off on the right foot. So today we’re partnering with our friends at Quaker to tell you how you can become a morning person in three easy steps, based on Team LC’s tried and true advice. So read on and stop hitting the snooze button for great…
All of us at Team LC discover that we believe our best when we get our workout over with in the AM hours. But that’s always much easier said than done, especially when your 6 AM alarm clock goes off and you feel like skipping the spin class that seemed like such a fantastic idea the night before. Our best tip? Your morning workout the way you would a work interview. Mark it down and make sure you’re in bed early enough the night before to feel ready and rested to sweat out it. The best part about getting over it with? You will have your cup of Quaker Overnight Oats ready and waiting for you when you get home!
