Let me know what variations you believe you would make? Leave out the fruit, add some chives or nutritional yeast?
*PLEASE NOTE that the quantities in this recipe are a guide line as I added water and spices and just threw in quantities of seeds into a bowl this morning and blended it up.
You really can not go to wrong so long as you have enough flax seeds or chia seeds (or a variety of the two). They are what binds everything together so don’t be shy with these.
I created these crackers for breakfast this morning. I was craving something crunchy, crispy and just
not my usual salad … so I thought why not make something which I could bite on for a change. These crackers were so easy that I thought I would share them here.
You do not have to let them sit for 20 minutes if you did but it would be helpful. I didn’t wait that long and they ended up great.
METHOD
Turn on your oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
Mix all your seeds together and add your seasons.
Add Raisins or another dried fruit of your choice (or leave out dried fruit if you wish).
Add water, mix everything well and allow it to sit in the bowl for 15 – 20 minutes and permit it to gel together a bit.
Place on a baking tray with baking paper (or parchment paper).
Place in your preheated oven and bake for 10 – 20 minutes. Check to see it doesn’t burn.
Use a spatula to flip over your seed tray when the edges are getting to be crispy and it is no longer super tacky but it possibly ever so slightly moist in the middle of the tray.
Place back in the oven and allow the other side to crisp up.
Break into pieces and take out any bits that are quite crispy.
Keep a close watch on the seed crackers that they don’t burn and remove and allow to cool.
INGREDIENTS
1/2 Cup Flax Seeds
2 – 3 Tablespoons Chia Seeds
1/4 Cup Pumpkin Seeds
1/4 Cup Sesame Seeds
A Handful of Raisins (optional)
1 Teaspoon of Onion Powder
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
a pinch of Pepper
Roughly 1/2 into 3/4 of a cup of Water (you will want more or less)
