Trick or Treat: How to Celebrate Baby’s First Halloween
First comes the most fun step of all! There were a lot of adorable costumes to select from in Pottery Barn Kids, and to be honest the biggest challenge was narrowing down our favorites. Amongst our editors and friends, two themes really stood out: bright and magical outfits (such as the fairy, unicorn, and flamingo) and baby animal costumes, such as woodland animals and a few jungle animals, too! In addition, it can be a fun idea match your babe or to coordinate your own costume. Pottery Barn Kids even has a few adult accessories too, for one-stop shopping.
Halloween might just win the award for favorite vacation here at LaurenConrad.com. If you’ve been following along for some time, you’re likely familiar with the excitement each year since we whip up our spookiest sweet treats, break out our orange and black décor, vow to take pumpkin decorating to another level, and eagerly await the reveal of Lauren’s costume. And just when we thought Halloween couldn’t get any better, we added a few Team LC babies into the mix!
You’re probably not going to be taking a baby trick-or-treating (unless they’re tagging along with an older sibling), but it may be especially fun for babies to sit on the porch handing out candies and seeing all the older kids come by. Plus, you want to really show off whatever adorable outfit you ended up choosing for your small one!
Choose a Cute Costume
The only thing cuter than one baby in costume is… a group of babies in costume! We invited for a our baby friends over all. Watching our Halloween babes socialize made for the moment ever. (Are you kidding us with this baby unicorn and fairy?! Too cute.) We had snacks for the kiddos, a Halloween playlist playing, a few fun and merry décor from Pottery Barn Kids, and a great deal of mini pumpkins, which proved to be quite entertaining for all the babies.
There nothing cuter than a one in costume, and Halloween is the best excuse to dress your babe in the getup possible. So with this in mind, we partnered with Pottery Barn Kids to share some of our favorite costumes for babies and toddlers, together with a couple of tips for celebrating Halloween with the little ones in your life. Even for those who have a small babe who isn’t yet old enough for trick or treating, you can create their first Halloween a unique occasion for the entire family (and a serious photo opp, too). Take a look at our ideas below…

Be sure you snap tons of pictures of the photo opp. Even if you don’t normally go all out with the Halloween decorations, then you may want to set up a photograph backdrop or ribbon wall to make your photos stand out. Or if you happen to have your stoop that would be an ideal place too. This year we strung up a few cute garlands, and invited friends with babies over to take part in this joyous “photo booth.” You could make for yet another photo by going along with your little one in tow, opp.
